Consilex Altrain: Wodoodporne przezroczyste rozwiązanie niepellicularne do powierzchni murowanych
Consilex Altrain
Water repellent, colourless, non-pellicular impregnating agent based on silanes and siloxanes in solvent. It protects plaster, hydraulic mortars, natural stone, tuff, and other building materials, from the mechanical-chemical action of rain, from freezing/thawing cycles and from the action of pollutant agents. From the functional point of view, the treated materials have pores and capillarity internally coated but not filled, so there is no deposit of coatings, it does not alter the colour, it does not change the appearance of the surfaces and the water vapour breathability is maintained. These characteristics, together with good chemical stability (against oxygen, UV radiation and pollutants) and the total absence of harmful by-products, make the product suitable for application on different supports, in various environments of exposure and in particular for interventions on artefacts of historical-artistic value. The high capillary penetration and diffusion capacity of Consilex Altrain makes the product also suitable for use for chemical barrier injection treatments against rising damp.
The special mix of high wetting power solvents carries the active substances (especially the short-chain siloxanic oligomers) towards the inside of the masonry structure depositing them on the capillary walls. The evaporation of the solvent and the combination of silanes-siloxanes with the moisture present in the support, cause the cross-linking and the rooting of the active substances on the application supports. The result is an immediate water-repellent effect of the treated materials (negative angle of wetting against water droplets). This causes the drastic reduction of water penetration inside the treated materials, the reduction of efflorescence and the onset of an effective "self-flushing" effect of the surfaces ("Lotus flower" effect).
- Impregnating, waterproofing, protective treatment of above-ground surrounding walls, made of brick, marble, slate, sandstone, limestone, tuff, natural stone in general, brick, cementitious or lime-based conglomerates, etc.
- Water repellent transparent protection of buildings with historical or particular architectural value.
- Chemical barrier injection treatments on walls affected by rising damp.
- Preliminary antisaline treatments, on bare masonry, carried out immediately before the realization of a dehumidifying plastering cycle (despite the effectiveness of the product, which has been extensively tested over the years, pay maximum attention to the timing of realization of this preventive treatment to avoid loss of adhesion of the plastering cycle. For this kind of application we recommend using green-building treatments based on ammonium salts in aqueous solution, like Sanareg)
Impregnations with Consilex Altrain are not suitable for waterproofing:
- Terraces and flat roofs
- Water basins;
- Underground artefacts subject to water in negative counter-thrust;
- Plaster artefacts;
- Synthetic plasters or decorated with synthetic paints.
The supports must be dry, clean and dust-free. In particular, pay attention to saline concretions, dirt, grease, oils, paints, moss and weeds, which can prevent the in-depth penetration of the product and that must be removed beforehand.
CHEMICAL BARRIER INJECTIONS
Draw a line parallel to the external pavement or to the internal flooring, at a distance of approximately 10 - 15 cm from the walking surface.
On the traced line, set up drilling points approximately 15 cm apart from each other.
The inclination of the holes will be approximately 20° downwards.
The depth of the holes will be approximately 4/5 of the thickness of the wall to be injected.
The drill bit to be used must have a diameter of 18-20 mm.
Once the holes have been drilled, the dust produced by the drilling must be eliminated.
Proceed with the execution of gravity or low-pressure injections using an airless pump directly into the holes arranged in the masonry (remember that the product is solvent based. The release of the solvent from injected masonry, characterized among other things by the typical smell of solvent-based materials, is a very slow process, which must provide necessary precautions and be carried out exclusively by skilled workers. Despite the effectiveness of the product that has been extensively tested over the years, therefore, for injection operations on masonry affected by rising damp, in the first instance, we always recommend evaluating solutions based on water-based products such as Consilex Mauer Mono or CONSILEX BARRIER A).
Contains flammable solvents, harmful and hazardous for the aquatic environment. Keep away from open flames and sources of heat, do not smoke during its application, use with gloves and safety glasses. In the case of application in closed environments, provide for proper ventilation.
